The weather in Playa Blanca is usually hot during summers and mild in winters. The area often experiences very little rain.
Although usually very dry and hot in July and August, Playa Blanca’s climate benefits from breezes coming from the Atlantic. As expected, the temperature rises to a scorching 30 °C in August, so don’t forget to check that your hire car rental or hotel has air conditioning before you book! On the other hand, the weather can fall to 19°C in January and February, although the real feel can reflect much cooler winds in winter.
When is the best time to visit the Playa Blanca?
Fortunately, Lanzarote benefits from almost 300 wonderful days of sunshine, offering plenty of much-needed Vitamin D to choose from. For most of the year, Playa Blanca weather is shaped by 8-9 hours of sunshine except for December, January and February, which offer 6- 7 hours. If you don’t mind it being very hot and prefer to benefit from water sports and swimming, then the summer months may be better for you. However, if you want to escape your winter frost, December in Playa Blanca can experience less wind and bright sunshine. Night time still gets cold in December, so take a warm jumper or coat for those fresh evening walks. (See below for the current weather in Playa Blanca.)
If you can’t wait for Summer or Winter, Spring has the best of both worlds. If you don’t mind a little rain but nine hours of glorious sunshine, May could be the best time for you to visit Playa Blanca.
